Steven Pressman


Steven Pressman was born and raised in Los Angeles and earned an undergraduate degree in political science at the University of California at Berkeley. He worked for many years as a newspaper and magazine journalist in Los Angeles, Washington, DC, and San Francisco and covered a wide variety of topics that included legal affairs, national politics, popular culture, foreign affairs and other matters. Steve also worked as a freelance writer whose articles appeared in several publications that included The Washington Post, San Francisco Examiner, California Journal and George Magazine.


He is the writer, producer and director of 50 Children: The Rescue Mission of Mr. and Mrs. Kraus, an Emmy-nominated documentary film that premiered on HBO in April 2013 and formed the basis for his 50 Children book. He is also the author of a previous nonfiction book -- Outrageous Betrayal: The Dark Journey of Werner Erhard from est to Exile (St. Martin’s Press, 1993).
